It’s Not Fair (R.I.P Trayvon Martin)
By: Bryson Carter
Every time I see a hoodie, I think of Trayvon Martin. I think of how unfair and injustice the world was and still is to this day. I think of how George Zimmerman followed him because he thought he was up to no good, but not only did he follow him he shot him also. I think of how people say it’s going to get better when all it is doing is getting worse. I wonder why he still hasn’t suffered for the crime he committed.

It’s so unfair how his parents have to suffer. Hiding and bobbing under each cover. America can make a difference one step at a time but it looks like there being left behind its not fair how Zimmerman can run free while we can’t see Trayvon rise to the top. If only Zimmerman would’ve stopped Rest In Peace Trayvon Martin you will forever live on!

I Remember Him
By: Bryson Carter
Well daddy we’ll be back on Saturday to check on you,” whispered my mom to my Grandpa as she kissed him on the cold cheek. He just smiled and sighed “okay.” Usually he would say “I’ll be here,” or “I’ll be waitin’” but at that moment he just smiled.
On Monday, September 15th, 2008 my mom walked into our house with a worried look on her face like why, why did it happen to me? Then all of a sudden her phone rang in almost a frantic tone as if to say ANSWER ME!
She answered the phone in a sad “hello” knowing what the call was about the person on the other line was practically screaming then they hung up with the last words “he’s gone” then all at once it was silent, so silent you could hear a brass pin drop. Then, BOOM my mom fell to the floor. My dad quickly, and swiftly rushed to her side after the tears had fallen I saw a light it’s brightness blinded me it was as if fireworks had exploded on a fourth of July night.
That night I had a dream it was filled with memories flashed through my mind. That morning I told my mom all about the dream I experienced that night. When I told her about it she just smiled kind of like he did and replied “I know I dreamed about the same thing too.” Questions filled my mind did she really have the same dream or was she just trying to comfort me?

Weeks later at the funeral I heard as they played Taps to honor him for being in one of the Armed Forces. The worst part must’ve been when I heard the crane lower him six feet into the muddy ground. That evening I saw a light almost identical to the one I saw the day he past. Questions zoomed through my mind. What does it stand for? What did it mean? Was  it even the same light?
The year he died depressed me in many ways now that I know he is in a better place I think I’ll make it until I see him again. Every time I visit my grandma I will never forget to walk up and talk to my grandfather. Rest In Peace (R.I.P) Charles Edward Taylor this story is dedicated to you with love

                               California Christmas
                                  By: Jennifer V

Every time I see a Christmas Tree it reminds me  of the time my family and I traveled to California for Christmas! We all woke up one morning and ate breakfast then we waited around a while, I got tired of waiting so I decide to start packing early. Soon everybody was packing my sister had a little trouble packing so I helped her.  I fell asleep because my mom wakes me and my sister up much to EARLY! Once we were done packing we loaded all the luggage into the car and drove to the airport! My aunt also came so that after we left she could take our car back home. Once we arrived at the we unloaded all of are luggage it felt better putting it in than taking it out. After that we took our tickets and our HEAVY luggage and it in this weird looking thing. They had to check to see if we had any liquid or explosives(we didn't). We got our belongings and walked through this tall METAL DETECTOR! We had to wait a long time until they called our plane number after they called we were the first ones on it! Well when we got on the plane I fell asleep and when we landed I called my grandma so she could come pick us up. I fell asleep on the way to her house too! FINALLY we arrived and I sneaked off to an old friends house, but my grandpa caught me ad asked me were was I going I told him and he said that she moved I was very upset I had no one to play with. The next morning was finally CHRISTMAS I couldn't wait to open my presents but, my grandma said i could only open 1. It was 11:00am when I was finished opening them all. I saw the present I had wanted for years MY VERY OWN DOLL COLLECTION!!! I can't wait to visit again!

THE END
